Full day tour of Beijing city visiting Tiananmen Square- Build in 1415, Tian An Men Square is one of the largest squares in the world, with total size of over 40 hectares. It is the main entrance of the Forbidden City.

 

Built in 1415, Tian An Men Square is one of the largest squares in the world, with total size of over 40 hectares. It is the main entrance of the Forbidden City and has an overview of the communist influences on the country.  The Forbidden City was built in 1406, which use to be Chinese Imperial Palace in Ming and Qing Dynasty. With over 180 acres and collection of great halls, you will see antiques and treasures representing all of China's history.

 

Also visit Summer Palace- Summer Palace was built in 1750 during Qing Dynasty. It is the largest royal park and being well preserved.

 

You will explore the grounds, the temples and the world’s longest art gallery.   At the end of tour visit the Temple of Heaven - Built in 1420, Temple of Heaven was where emperors went to worship heaven for good harvests.

BEIJING

Full day tour of the Juyongguan Great Wall and Ming Tomb sacred way.

BEIJING–ZHENZHOU-LUOYANG

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to Beijing train station for Speed train to Zhengzhou. (THOSE WHO ARE NOT VISITING BEIJING MUST ARRIVE THIS DAY IN LUOYANG ON THEIR OWN DIRECTLY BOOKED FLIGHT/TRAIN). Arrive in Zhengzhou and proceed on tour of Shaolin temple and Shaolin Kung Fu show.

 

The Shaolin Temple, founded in 495 AD near Dengfeng in Henan Province, China, is the legendary birthplace of Chan Buddhism and Shaolin Kung Fu. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, this ancient monastery is world-renowned for its warrior monks and has survived numerous historical destructions, functioning today as a major cultural, tourist, and martial arts hub.  Situated at the foot of Song Mountain, the complex includes the famed Thousand Buddha Hall, which features ancient training, and the Pagoda Forest, which contains the graves of many monks. After the tour drive to Luoyang to check in to hotel.

LUOYANG – XIAN

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed on tour of the grottoes and niches of Longmen.

 

The largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art of the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). These works, entirely devoted to the Buddhist religion, represent the high point of Chinese stone carving.  After the tour proceed by road to Xian (approximately 5 hours’ drive through the countryside).  Arrive in Xian in the evening.

XIAN

Full day tour of Xian visiting Terra Cotta soldiers. You are going to see 2,000 life size Terracotta Warriors and Horses in a real battle formation. It was buried underground over 2,200 years and were made for protecting the Qin Emperor's afterlife. The visit to the museum covers three pits in original sites: Pit 1 as the principal combating force, Pit 2 as the mechanized troupe and Pit 3 as its underground command center. Extra exhibitions also could be seen in the museum, like Bronze Chariots found about 20ms to the west of the emperor's mausoleum, Terracotta acrobat figures and some bronze weapons.

 

It is a treasured house with profound Qin Dynasty's history and culture.   Also visit the Wild Goose Pagoda.

 

The Wild Goose Pagoda, also called Big Wild Goose Pagoda, is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. Located in the Da Ci’en Temple complex about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) south to the city center, the pagoda enjoys a history spanning more than 1,370 years and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage. This 7-storied pagoda built with bricks is 64.5 meters (210 feet) high, with four arch-shaped doors on each floor.

 

In the evening Tang Dynasty folklore show followed by dumpling dinner.

XIAN - GUILIN

Transfer to airport for flight to Guilin.  Arrive in Guilin and transfer to hotel.  In the afternoon city tour of Elephant Trunk hill.

 

Early morning tour of Elephant Trunk Hill - A landmark in Guilin since the Tang Dynasty and considered by many to be a symbol of the city, Elephant Trunk (Xiangbishan) Hill got its name because it’s said to resemble a giant elephant drinking water from the Li River. Towering more than 180 feet (55 meters) above the water, it’s one of the top attractions in Guilin.

GUILIN

A full day tour of Guilin visiting the Li River- This Li River cruise takes around 4 hours. From the Pier to Yangshuo covers hundreds and thousands of grotesque peaks, forming a picturesque scene. With the river winding its way like a green ribbon and peaks lining up like bamboo shoots, the landscape presents a breathtaking Gallery of Nature. 

Cruise down the river, you will feast your eyes with the inverted image of fantastic peaks with various shapes, crystal clear water, green hills, bamboo groves, you can also see the background of 20 Yuan currency notes in Xingping town.

 

In the afternoon visit Reed Flute caves. Reed Caves - located 3 miles (5 kilometers) from downtown Guilin, this famous limestone cave is one of the top attractions in Guilin. It’s named for the reeds that grow outside the cave, which are used to make flutes. The cave stretches for 787 feet (240 meters) and is colorfully lit inside to highlight the interesting collection of stone pillars, stalactites, and stalagmites found within.

After early breakfast, transfer to train station for speed train ride to Chongqing.  Arrive in Chongqing and proceed on tour of Chongqing. proceed on tour of Liberation monument, People’s Square and Zoo to see Panda.

YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE

Enjoy cruising on Yangtze River with shore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City onshore, which is about 2,000 years old and called “the Homeland of Divine Comedy in China”.

 In this “City of Ghosts”, you will see a series of temples, shrines, palaces, pavilions, and more traditional styled architecture complex. The colorful statues and story scenes of afterlife in hell displayed show the underworld, cruel tortures, different kinds of devils, Chinese demons and the traditional Chinese belief: pure spirits would be rewarded, and sinful ones would be subject to severe punishments.

YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE

Today, you'll sail through the spectacular Three Gorges! Soak up the breathtaking gorge scenery as you drift through Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge respectively.

  

You'll switch to a smaller boat to take an enjoyable shore excursion to Shennv Stream (Goddess Stream), a tributary of the Yangtze River. Sail down this primitive stream to closely marvel at steep mountains and hanging coffins high on the cliffs, hear local history, and appreciate featured dance and music by Tujia ethnic people!  At evening, enjoy the well-prepared Captain’s Farewell Party with all your mates onboard and have a whale of time of the last night onboard!

YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE- YICHANG - SHANGHAI

After breakfast, go through a check-out procedure and disembark in Yichang and visit the largest hydropower station in the world, with an annual energy output of 84.7 billion kilowatt-hours.

 

The Dam is about 2,300 meters (7,546 ft) long and about 115 meters (377 ft) wide. With a water capacity of 39.3 billion cubic meters, it can hold a huge reservoir to efficiently prevent flooding in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze. Later transfer to airport for flight to Shanghai.  Arrive in Shanghai and transfer to hotel.

SHANGHAI

In the morning visit visiting Shanghai Museum - one of the finest museums in China, the Shanghai Museum has a vast collection of Chinese artifacts from the Neolithic period onward.

 

The museum’s 11 state-of-the-art galleries display ancient bronze, jade, and ceramics; painting, calligraphy, and ancient sculptures; and Ming and Qing dynasty furniture. The museum design is in keeping with Feng Shui principles. It houses a great permanent collection and hosts various exhibitions with over 120,000 pieces that showcase the 5000 years of China's history. 

Also visit Jade Buddha temple- Built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1875-1909), Jade Buddha Temple contains a priceless collection of jade statues from Burma.

 

The temple is constructed in the magnificent architectural style of the Song Dynasty. Currently the temple houses the Shanghai Buddhist Institute.

Visit Yu Yuan Garden - visit to the 5-century old elegant garden once built by the government officer to please his parents, delve yourself in the poetic and tranquil scenery with beautiful rockeries, steams, ponds and pavilions, listening to the local old customs, history and culture from your knowledgeable guide; marvel at the charming Qing Dynasty architectures and amazing 21st century artistic skyscrapers while walking through lucky nine-turning zigzag bridge and the oldest Hu Xin Ting Tea house.

GROUP MEALS BOOKING: POLLINA TOURS make the reservation for the Group Dinner arrangements at the hotel or local restaurants based on the hotel or restaurant’s Buffet or Set dinner menu policy for the entire group. All efforts are made to offer Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian menu choices to the Group members. However, Pollina Tours cannot make multiple dinner menu requests based on each group members’ individual request, personal taste, likes and dislikes. Due to the presence of food allergens in the processing environment and in meals and snacks served, Pollina Tours and its suppliers cannot guarantee an allergen-free meal. We encourage customers to review any health/food allergy concerns with their physicians prior to joining the tour.

 

NOT INCLUDED IN LAND COST: Any international airfare, Visa fee, any airfare, meals not mentioned above, Travel Insurance, baggage handling fee, gratuity, any beverages alcoholic or non-alcoholic, items of personal nature such as laundry, telephone, lunch, dinner, room service, any increase in airfare or government-imposed taxes, any other items not mentioned in the tour inclusion list.

  

FORM OF PAYMENT: Please make the check payable to Pollina Tours & Travel, Inc for USD 1000 per person. The final payment is due 120 days before departure.

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Pollina Tours do not sell any travel insurance. We strongly recommend that you obtain a comprehensive Travel Insurance coverage, including but not limited to trip cancellation, delay, loss of deposit, medical expenses, personal accidents and death, loss of baggage, personal belongings. CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason) Travel Insurance Policy is one option that you must discuss with your Travel Insurance Company, as it offers a wider range of coverage if you cancel for any reason. Most Travel Insurance companies want you to buy insurance at the time of making your initial tour deposit to obtain the best coverage. CANCELLATION AND REFUND If the tour is cancelled by the tour participants for any reason or for any circumstances beyond the control of Pollina Tours & Travel, Inc, its agents, and its service providers, a cancellation fee will be applicable. CFAR (Cancel for Any Reason) travel insurance policy is one option that you must discuss with your Travel Insurance Company, as it offers a wider range of coverage if you cancel for any reason. We highly recommend purchasing Travel Insurance policy from the travel insurance company of your choice, covering all eventualities including, but not limited to, trip delay, trip cancellation, medical evacuation, illness, pandemic, endemic, outbreak of disease, terrorism, inclement weather, natural disaster, death of the traveler, accident etc that can protect yourself from cancellation fee as mentioned in the chart

It is mandatory for passengers to make all cancellations in writing, stating the reason for cancellation and must be received in our office. Most refunds generally take 6-8 weeks to process.

 

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: Tourist Visa is required to Visit China for US and Indian nationals. It is the sole responsibility of each passenger/tourist to obtain and verify that all their travel documents, such as passport, visa, and airline tickets, vaccination requirements etc. are in order and meets the guidelines to embark on the trip.

 

HEALTH: You must consult with your physician every important aspect of your health-related issues, including seasickness, motion sickness, vaccinations such as Yellow Fever, Hepatitis, malaria prophylaxis etc. to ensure that you are in good health to engage in overseas travel. In addition, you are expected to carry your own regular medications, which may not be available aboard. All our overseas tours may require considerable walking and driving, sometimes on uneven, dusty and bumpy roads and snow conditions. You may also need to take stairs and inclines during the tour. No individual assistance to passengers requiring a wheelchair can be provided by local tour agents/guides/drivers etc. In such cases, you must bring and pay for your personal caretaker expenses on the trip. For Information on vaccinations and other health precautions, such as safe food and water precautions and insect bite protection, may be obtained from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s hotline for international travelers at 800-CDC-INFO (800-232-4636) or via the CDC’s Internet site, at www.cdc.gov/travel. For information and health guidelines about outbreaks of infectious diseases such as COVID 19 and other diseases abroad, please consult the World Health Organization’s (WHO) official website. All passengers are personally responsible to ensure that they comply with overseas mandatory medical/vaccination requirements and are medically cleared by their Physicians to embark on the trip.

 

AIRLINE GROUP BOOKING AND SEAT ASSIGNMENTS:POLLINA TOURS makes the booking with the Group Department of the airline, which means all the group members must travel together to and from a common gateway, as one Group. The Group tickets are lower fare tickets and carry restrictions. The tickets are nonrefundable, non-transferrable, non–re-routable, and non-endorsable. Policies governing seat assignments for groups vary greatly by airline. Most airlines currently offer preferred seating, a system which allows them to charge additional fees for more desirable seats, which may include window and aisle seats. As a result, many seats displayed on airline seat maps are set aside for clients willing to pay additional fees for them. Some seats may only be accessible at airport check-in, although sometimes passengers with frequent flyer status may have earlier access. Seat assignments preferences are not guaranteed by Pollina Tours. Airline reservation agents are often prohibited from assisting with seat requests for group reservations.

RESPONSIBILITY : Pollina Tours & Travel, Inc. and/or their agents give notice that all tickets, vouchers and the coupons issued by them and all arrangements for transportation or for conveyance/hotel accommodation, sightseeing, excursions, etc, made by them, as AGENTS of the passenger upon the express condition that they shall not be held liable for any injury, damage, loss , accident, death, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason or defect of any vehicle, or through the act or default of any person or company engaged in conveying or housing the passengers or in connection therewith, or of any hotel proprietor or employee. Pollina Tour and/ or their agents can accept no responsibility for cancellation penalties or losses or incidental expenses due to delay or change in schedules of airline, rail, motor coach, cruise or any transportation companies etc, hotel overbooking or default, sickness, injury, death, weather, strike, political or social unrest, disease, epidemic, pandemic, terrorism, Natural calamities, quarantine or any other causes beyond the control of Pollina Tours & Travel, its agents and suppliers of services.
